ANN ARBOR, Mich. --- Whitney Shaw netted 5 goals in a, 13-12, California Baptist win over Wagner in game 2 of a busy first day of the Wolverine Invitational.
Shaw ended with 6 goals altogether, as the Lancers improved to 14-5 with the wins. California Baptist plays Brown and Michigan State tomorrow in the final day of the tourney.
The Lancers closed out the first quarter with a 3-0 lead, but clung to just a 4-3 advantage at the half, as the Seahawks scored a trio of goals in period 2. CBU had a 7-5 lead heading to the fourth quarter, but Wagner out-scored the Lancers 4-2 in the fourth quarter to force an overtime at 9-9 after regulation.
Earlier in the day, the Lancers had dropped a 10-6 decision to Indiana, which received votes in the most recent CWPA poll.
