Brown didn't waste any time in the fourth quarter, as Paige Lansing tucked away her only goal to give the Bears a lead they wouldn't surrender, at 7-6, less than a minute into the final period.
Cheryl Ogden scored a trio of goals for California Baptist, which falls to 16-6. The Lancers were held scoreless for 8:55 in the second half, as
Corrie Stuursma's goal with 7:08 left in the second period put the Lancers ahead by 2, at 3-1, and Ogden's first goal of the game matched Brown's Sarah Glick, who had netted the Bears' second goal, making the score 4-2 in favor of the Lancers, who beat Brown by a final score of 6-5 March 18 at the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich.
During California Baptist's 8:55 interlude in the second half, Brown scored 4 goals, turning a 6-4 Lancer lead into an 8-6 Brown advantage.
