
PETERS' GLOVE IS GOLDEN

RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- California Baptist senior left fielder Brandon Peters was named to the 2008 Rawlings-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team as selected by the NAIA Baseball Coaches' Association All-America Selection Committee.
In all nine players were selected to the team, one for each position on the field. This is the second year that the NAIA Gold Glove Team was chosen, and Peters becomes the first Lancer to earn the honor. Nearly half of this year's team came from the GSAC. 3B Matt Ross (Concordia), RF Kahoi Downing (Point Loma Nazarene) and P Chris Schwinden (Fresno Pacific) join Peters on the team.
Peters appeared in 51 of the Lancers' 52 games, starting 49 of them. He did not commit an error in 68 chances and had seven outfield assists. Peters was tied for the NAIA lead with a 1.000 fielding percentage.
The Lancers posted their third straight 30-win season, finishing 30-22 overall. They made their program-record fifth straight playoff appearance, advancing the NAIA Region II Playoffs. Since 2006, the Lancers are 108-49 with a GSAC title in 2006.
