ORANGE, Calif. ? California Baptist University got a hat trick from four different Lancers in a 15-6 win over Chapman Wednesday night.
Kylie Chevalier, Jennifer Grutz, Melissa Shepardson and Collette Brown all scored three goals for the Lancers (17-10). Chevalier also dished out three assists while Brown had two. Brown also posted a steal.
Rylee Scheid scored a pair of goals while Rood scored a single goal. Rood also recorded a trio of steals. Chelsea Gentry dished out a pair of assists and notched five steals as well. Camryn Rogers posted a game-high 13 saves in the cage.
The Lancers took a 2-1 lead after the first quarter and then doubled their lead to 4-2 at the half. The Lancers added 11 goals in the second half while holding the Panthers to just four. CBU scored five in the third and six in the fourth.
CBU was 15-for-32 (46.9 percent) from the field and was 3-for-5 on 6-on-5 opportunities while holding Chapman to 4-for-10.
