RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- After dropping three tough contests over the weekend in the Arizona State Invitational, California Baptist University got back on the winning track with a 20-7 victory over Chapman University. With the win, the Lancers move to 17-13 on the year.

The story of the first half was all CBU, as five different Lancers scored to give CBU a 5-0 lead by the end of the first half. The second quarter proved to be more of the same for CBU. The Lancers stretched their lead to 11-0, before allowing a Panther goal. Though the Lancer offense slowed a bit approaching halftime, CBU still took a 13-3 lead into the break.

CBU continued to add to its lead through the final half of the contest. The Lancers added three more scores in the third quarter, and four more in the fourth, to complete the 13-point win over the Panthers.

The Lancers were led in scoring by Jennifer Grutz, who posted four goals in the win. Melissa Shepardson, Chelsea Gentry, Kim Latschaw, Kylie Chevalier and Collette Brown each scored a pair of goals in the contest.

The Lancers head back out on the road for their next games, traveling to San Diego, Calif. CBU is set to play San Diego State at 2:30 p.m., then will face off against Brown at 5 p.m.
