The Lancers got more than enough offense before the 22nd minute and never let the conference foe Hawks climb back in the matchup. CBU was led by a hat trick from Kelly Jenks in the first half.
The seven goals scored by the Lancers were the most for the team since Aug. 26, 2010.
"We did the little things well tonight and put ourselves in a position to be successful," said CBU Head Coach Kristen St. Clair. "Our goal is always to keep improving and this was another step in the right direction."
Just eight minutes into the game Lindsay Vesling hit pay dirt scoring on a ball played from Kimberly Allard.
Vesling then assisted on CBU's next strike, setting Jenks up for a goal in the 12th minute. Jenks would find the net again, scoring just under 10 minutes later. Daelyn Paul got the assist.
Jenks added her third at the 30th minute to put the Lancers ahead 4-0. Eva Solis got the assist.
Every ball the Lancers put on target found the back of the net in the first half.
Vesling's one assist, one goal game comes two nights after she posted a pair of assists against Fresno Pacific. Jenks now has four goals in the last two games.
Both teams scored in the second period with Paul adding her second of the game for CBU and Allard getting an unassisted goal in the 82nd minute. Rebecca Disbrandt scored for Holy Names in the 74th minute.
Tambrie Awai capped the scoring for CBU with her first goal of the season in the 87th minute.
CBU moves to 3-1-1 overall on the season and is now 2-0 in the PacWest. Holy Names falls to 1-4, 0-2.
