LACEY, Wash. — California Baptist University put an exclamation point on its non-conference schedule Saturday afternoon with a 5-0 blasting over Saint Martin's.

The Lancers improve to 2-3 on the year, heading into PacWest action, while the Saints drop to 0-5.

It seemed goals were inevitable for CBU as the Lancers out-shot the Saints 22-to-3. Three different players accounted for the goals, with two each from Brooke Ligtenberg and Miranda Martinez, while Camille Ramirez netted her first collegiate goal.

Ligtenberg struck first in the 21^st minute, taking advantage of a defensive mistake and tucking it away to the far post, 1-0.

Despite the Lancers keeping the pressure on, SMU managed to hold CBU to just the 1-0 lead at halftime. Coming out of the break, however, CBU put the game into another gear.

Ramirez found the back of the net in the 77^th minute off an assist from Martinez. After SMU tried to clear the ball on a goal kick, Martinez found an open Ramirez on the left side of the goal, just 10 yards out and she tucked it away, 2-0.

About three and a half minutes later, Martinez scored her first goal of the game off an assist from Haley Wheelon. She struck again in the 84^th minute, dribbling past her defender and firing off a shot across the box and into the goal, 4-0.

SMU didn't have any time to react as Ligtenberg scored again just about 68 seconds later. Ligtenberg dribbled past the Saint defense and powered home a shot from just 10 yards out to seal the 5-0 victory.

CBU will look to carry momentum over into Thursday's PacWest opener against Hawai'i-Hilo. The Lancers and Vulcans kick off at 1:30 p.m. at the Lancer Soccer Field.
