The Lancers came out swinging with a 16-0 run over a 5:20 span early in the first half that quickly put the game out of reach for the visiting Leopards, a member of NCAA Division III. CBU also went on a 21-4 run in a five minute period late in the opening half that helped the Lancers take a 53-25 lead to the locker room. CBU shot 50 percent from the field including 7-of-16 from three-point range while La Verne shot just 25.9 percent from the floor in the first half.
