Lancers Debut as No. 2 in the West

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — In the first NCAA Division II West Region rankings, California Baptist University occupied the No. 2 spot, announced Wednesday.
The Lancers, who rank No. 20 in the NABC Coaches' Poll, are on a six-game winning streak, with all six coming by an average 21.5 scoring margin.
Western Oregon, which ranks fourth overall, grabbed the top spot in the first rankings. Cal Poly Pomona (third), Dixie State (fourth), UC San Diego (fifth), Point Loma (sixth), Saint Martin's (seventh), and Cal State San Marcos (eighth) filled in the first top-eight.
For the next two weeks, each Wednesday will release a new set of regional rankings. The Lancers will look to maintain one of the top-eight rankings in the region at the NCAA Division II Selection Show in March to make their fifth-straight NCAA postseason appearance. The NCAA Division II West Regional will take place March 9-12 at the location of the final top seeded team.
CBU boasts a 20-4, 13-3 conference mark heading into its final regular-season home game on Thursday. The Lancers host Chaminade for a 7:00 p.m. tip, before closing out the regular season with three-straight road games.
