CBU Starts Season at UCSB

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – No. 24 California Baptist University opened the 2019 season with a pair of top-17 matchups at UC Santa Barbara's Winter Invite on Friday.
Lizette Perez (three goals) and Kira O'Donell (two assists, one goal) each logged three points over both games, a 14-4 loss to 17th-ranked UC Santa Barbara and a 25-5 loss against top-ranked and defending national champion Southern Cal.
Pua Wong scored twice against the Gauchos, while O'Donell had her two assists and goal in the contest. Perez also scored against UCSB and then added two more goals against the Trojans.
Katie Quon and Megan Henry each had a goal and assist versus USC. Taralyn De Leeuw scored the fifth and final goal on the Trojans.
The Lancers play two more games on Saturday against No. 18 CSUN at 8:30 a.m. and then third-ranked UCLA at 1:30 p.m. in Santa Barbara.
