RIVERSIDE --- Former California Baptist University men's basketball standout, Jordan Heading, has signed a professional contract with the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas team in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
Heading, who ended his CBU career as one of the most decorated players in the program's history, will now compete all around Southeast Asia with teams in Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau, and China.
"We are so happy for and proud of Jordan's recent professional signing," said head coach Rick Croy. "He has meant so much to CBU and played such a critical role ensuring our program is a transformational one. He is an exceptional young man, and there is no question his professional career is going to parallel the special collegiate one he had for us."
The ABL is constructed of 10 teams, with the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas boasting the largest arena with a capacity of 12,000 seats.
Heading will report to head coach Jimmy Alapag, who was a former professional basketball player in the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association). Alapag had an extensive career in the PBA and even played in the World Cup in Spain when he guided his team to win its first World Cup victory for the first time in 40 years, beating Senegal.
Heading finished his career with a program-best 128 games in a Lancer uniform and holds the school record with 228 career 3-pointers made. He also ranks seventh in assists (340) and eighth in points (1,487) in the CBU record books.
