Ramirez Named GCC Player of the Week

RIVERSIDE – Grace Ramirez became the first goalie in California Baptist University history to earn Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week award on Thursday.
It marked the seventh time a Lancer has earned the GCC Player of the Week award. Three field players: Kira O'Donell, Hannah Evans and Laura Kocsis received the honor twice in their career. Ramirez reaped the distinction after she got CBU off to a strong start at the Lancer Joust on Saturday.
The Lancers return to action for another doubleheader, as it hosts 21st-ranked CSUN and Fresno Pacific on Friday. The Lancers will face the Matadors, who come in at 4-2 with two top-25 wins a one-goal loss to No. 8 Michigan, at noon and then square off with the Sunbirds at 6 p.m.

The senior logged 22 saves, four steals and two assists over two games against No. 1 USC and Chapman. She led the Lancers to a 13-5 win over Chapman, with nine saves, two steals and an assist in the game. The Corona native had a strong showing against the top-ranked Trojans, with 13 saves, two steals and an assist in three quarters.🎥🎥🎥
