Davis Named WAC Player of the Week

RIVERSIDE --- The Western Athletic Conference announced its TicketSmarter Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, as California Baptist University's De'jon Davis earned the top honor.
Davis, a senior forward from Oakland, Calif., was nearly unstoppable in a pair of big home wins for the Lancers. On Wednesday against Utah Valley, Davis scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the 73-66 win. He followed that up with a career-high 31 points, including a 4-4 performance from beyond the arc, and 15 rebounds in the 88-87 overtime thriller over Seattle U. On the season, he is nearly averaging a double-double with 11.9 points per game and a WAC-best 9.9 rebounds per game.
On senior night against the Redhawks, Davis came up big for the Lancers, sinking two free throws to force the game into overtime.

During his performance against the Wolverines, Davis eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in his four-year career as a Lancer.

This marks the second time Davis has earned WAC Player of the Week after starting the month of February with the top honor.
The Lancers finished the regular season on the road, taking on NM State on March 5 and UT Rio Grande Valley on March 7.
