RIVERSIDE – It is time to renew an old rivalry, as California Baptist University volleyball heads to Dixie State for back-to-back Western Athletic Conference matches with former PacWest foe Dixie State.
This week's matchup will end a four-year hiatus in the series. The Lancers and Trailblazers were conference opponents in the PacWest from 2011-17, and are now pit against each other again in the WAC.
Dixie State began its transition to NCAA Division I and the WAC this season, and is off to a 3-4 start, with a 2-4 league record. The Trailblazers are coming off back-to-back, straight-set losses to Grand Canyon in Phoenix this Monday and Tuesday.
CBU is coming off a series split with Utah Valley at home this week, which accounts for its first loss. The Lancers are 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference to stand in a tie for third place in the WAC standings with Utah Valley. Dixie State is in a tie for fifth place with Tarleton State (2-4).
