
CBU's Series With Cal Evens Up in Berkeley

BERKELEY – California Baptist University baseball will go into its weekend finale at Cal with a chance to secure the series victory. The Golden Bears evened the set up at a game apiece with a 15-1 victory on Saturday at Evans Diamond.
The Lancers' nine-game winning streak comes to a close, as they are now 11-5 on the year. Cal of the Pac-12 Conference moves to 11-7 going into Sunday's noon game. Both the Lancers and Bears came into this series receiving votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's NCAA Division I rankings.
Chad Castillo, Rory Smith and John Glenn all had base hits in the game for CBU. Castillo drove in the Lancers' lone run with an RBI single in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 1-1.
Cal worked its way into the Lancers' bullpen in the fifth and began to pull away from there. The Bears scored twice in the fourth, four runs in the fifth and seven more in the sixth to pull away.
