IRVINE --- California Baptist University put together a dominating performance on the pitch Thursday afternoon, as the Lancers beat the Cougars of Chicago State, 7-0.
The win improves the Lancers to 5-1-1 on the season and 3-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. As for the Cougars, they fall to 0-6 and 0-4 in the WAC.
Six different Lancers scored in the seven-goal game, as Rola Badawiya recorded the lone brace on the day. It marks the first time the Lancers have put up seven goals since Oct. 8, 2013, when they beat Chaminade in Riverside, 7-0.
"We're very proud of the team," said head coach Kristen St. Clair. "I thought we had a strong performance today. We want to continue to focus on the things we can control and improve upon our execution and performance in each game. We'll enjoy this result tonight and begin preparing for game two tomorrow."
The Lancers wasted no time finding the back of the net as Erin Gallagher played a ball ahead to Ari Coronado for the game's first goal.
