RIVERSIDE --- As the regular season comes to a close, California Baptist University hosted Seattle U in its final Western Athletic Conference series on Friday.
The Lancers showed a tremendous amount of fight coming down the stretch, as they battled back from a 14-point deficit to bring the game within one possession in the final minutes. Gorjok Gak and Tre Armstrong combined for the Lancers' final seven points in the last three minutes of the game.
Gak made a driving layup at the 3:09 mark to cut it to four, 78-74, and Armstrong came down on the next possession to hit his fifth three of the night.

With a one-point game, 80-79, both teams fired away to create separation, but the final minute and a half would be scoreless. Both teams were unable to find the basket, and Armstrong had a heave from midcourt for the buzzer-beater, but the ball missed just to the left to give the Redhawks the 80-79 victory.
Armstrong paced the Lancers, going 7-11 from the field and 5-7 from the 3-point line for a team-high 21 points. His five threes on the night tie his career-high, which he's set twice in his career.

Gak and Elijah Thomas both finished with 18 points, while Ty Rowell was the final Lancer in double figures with 16. Gak recorded his ninth double-double of the season, finishing with a team-high 12 rebounds.
The Lancers had an efficient night, shooting 50.9 percent from the field, 50 percent from deep, and 89.5 percent from the free-throw line. Despite outshooting the Redhawks in all three categories, the opposition was able to grab 14 offensive rebounds for 11 second-chance points. The Lancers dealt with foul trouble throughout the game, recording 19 whistles to the Redhawks' 15. Both teams spent quite a bit of time at the charity stripe, combining for 44 free throw attempts. CBU would go 17-19 from the line, while the Redhawks shot 19-25.
