Lancers Close Out Opening Road Swing Against UNLV

LAS VEGAS --- California Baptist University finished its opening four-game road swing against UNLV on Thursday, as the Lancers fell to the Rebels, 3-0.
CBU now moves to 1-3 on the season while UNLV improves to 4-1. The Lancers were active for all 90 minutes, outshooting the Rebels, 14-8, and grabbing four corner kicks to the Rebels three.
Karley Weeks led the offensive attack for the Lancers, recording a team-high three shots with one on frame. McKenna Ray and Morgan Witz both added two apiece, while Gracie Bowers, Makayla Soll, and Ashley Humphrey all recorded one shot on goal.
UNLV took an early 1-0 lead after Nailah Harpring found the back of the net at the 20th minute. The score remained the same through the first break, but it wouldn't last long, as the Rebels added a goal in the 57th minute and 77th minute.
The Lancers continued to knock on the door, recording four of their five shots on goal in the second half but were unsuccessful in finding the back of the net.
UP NEXT:
The Lancers are set to host Pacific (CA) for the home opener on Sunday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine. The gates will open an hour before kickoff and will be free admission for all fans and spectators.
