COLORADO SPRINGS – Five Lancers put together multi-hit games in California Baptist University baseball's series finale at Air Force on Sunday.

Harrison Spohn,
Chad Castillo,
Michael Carpentier and
Mitchel Simon all collected two hits on the day at Falcon Field. It helped CBU score the first five runs of the game, but the Falcons came back to secure the 18-7 win for the series victory. California Baptist moves to 21-9 this season, while Air Force improves to 14-16.
The Lancers will head back to Southern California and take on Long Beach State on Tuesday, April 12 at 6 p.m. at Blair Field. CBU will then resume Western Athletic Conference play at West Division leading Grand Canyon on Thursday, April 14 through Saturday, April 16.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
CBU scored two runs in the first and second innings and another in the third to jump out to a 5-0 lead. Martin and Spohn started the game with back-to-back singles and an error at first off the bat of Castillo helped score them both in the first.
In the second,
Connor Clift hit a two-run homer after Simon hit his way aboard with a one-out single. Castillo led off the third inning with a double and then scored on a two-out double from Carpentier.
Air Force put together several big innings of its own, with six runs in the third, five in the sixth and eighth innings. The Falcons took a 7-5 lead with those six runs in the third and another in the fourth.
The Lancers cut the deficit back down to one, 7-6, in the sixth after a
Russell Stevenson double, Carpentier single and sacrifice fly from Simon. CBU scored its final run in the eighth after a two-out single from Martin and RBI double from Spohn.
