RIVERSIDE – California Baptist University baseball saw its Western Athletic Conference series versus Dixie State evened up, as the Trailblazers took game two on a 9-4 win.

The Lancers battled back from an 8-0 deficit and scored four of the game's final five runs on Friday night at Totman Stadium. Nine players combined for 10 hits for CBU, which drops to 32-19 on the year and 18-11 in WAC play. Dixie State improves to 21-33, 13-16.

Ulises Caballero had a 2-for-3 game at the plate that included a home run. Jake Skipworth also homered in the game, while Harrison Spohn, Mitchel Simon and Chad Castillo doubled and Michael Carpentier had two runs batted in.

Spohn extended his hitting streak to 13 games with his 25^th double, which kept him among the NCAA Division I leaders this season.

On the mound, CBU was led by Ryan Silva. He threw a team-high four innings in relief and held the Trailblazers to one run on three hits, no walks and struck out five.

UP NEXT
The Lancers and Trailblazers end their series Saturday at noon at Totman Stadium. CBU will host the University of Hawaii on Monday at 5 p.m. and then end the season with a three-game series against UC Riverside (May 26-28).
