The meteor shower of goals began in the 10th minute for the Lancers after McKenna Ray drove down the right line and laid off a pass to Lauryn White, who found Sonja Lux in the box. Lux found the back of the net for her second collegiate goal and secured the early lead that would not be relinquished. Kaylee Hauck found her sixth goal of the season not even seven minutes later in the half, redirecting Morgan Witz's cross for the 2-0 lead and giving Ray her second assist of the evening.
Witz got in on the action in the 23rd minute and netted her first goal of the season in a one-on-one with the UTRGV goalkeeper. Hauck wrapped up the evening with her second goal of the night: a rocket blasted into the top right corner off a pass from Ray. Hauck finds herself leading the Lancers in goals at seven, and Ray now leads CBU in assists at five this season.

The Vaqueros managed to stop the Lancer's attack in the second half and ended the score from ballooning past 4-0. UTRGV did find the frame six times through the 90-minute match, but Noa Schumacher held the Vaqueros scoreless for her seventh shutout of the year. She is now just 14 saves away from breaking the CBU Division I career saves record.
"Being Senior day our team wanted to honor our senior class with a sharp performance, and they certainly did that. We've been working really hard in training on a few specific intangibles and I thought we really started to put those pieces together tonight, it was a total team effort," says Kristen St. Clair. "This is a very special senior class and we're grateful for their commitment, work and investment they've brought to the program over the years. Now we turn our attention to our upcoming Texas trip to wrap up WAC play. We must continue to be proactive as we prepare for two very challenging and important games. We want to continue to put ourselves in the best position possible for the WAC Tournament."
After officially clinching a spot in the WAC Tournament, the Lancers also improved their overall record to 9-1-6 and boast a 13-game unbeaten streak for a fairytale ending to their senior day. California Baptist will finish the regular season with a trip to Texas, where they will face Tarleton on Thursday evening at 5 p.m. and Abilene Christian on Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
