CBU Women's Water Polo Falls in Back and Forth Battle Against #14 Pacific

RIVERSIDE--- California Baptist University women's water polo hosted the #14 Pacific Tigers on Friday afternoon in the Lancer Aquatic Center. The Tigers had won ten straight against CBU heading into the matchup and left with their 11th straight win with a 14-11 score.
The Lancers still hold an over .500 record, sitting at 13-12, while the Tigers have a 14-4 overall record.
The match was back and forth all afternoon, with the Tigers holding a slim margin through most of the competition. The score was 11-10 heading into the fourth period; however, the Tigers would outscore CBU 3-1 in the final eight minutes to secure their four-goal win.
Maddie Schwegler and Celeste Almendariz converted three goals apiece for the Lancers, with Schwegler not missing a shot. Julia Miller and Ava Ratajczak split goalkeeper duties and combined for seven saves.
CBU will remain in their home pool to face the Marist Red Foxes on Wednesday, March 15th, at 2 p.m.
