RIVERSIDE--- California Baptist University honored nine seniors in their final home match of the season as they faced Azusa Pacific. The Cougars and Lancers engaged in a high-octane battle in the pool, but APU would pull it out in the end by a score of 17-15

Senior Melinna Galbraith started the scoring with a goal on the opening possession and was one of seven seniors to score in the game. CBU had it going in the first half with nine goals scored by eight different players.

The Cougars closed the first-half gap on the Lancers with two late goals to bring the halftime score to 9-8 in favor of CBU. Morgan Gates evened the score at 13 midway through the third period before the Cougars would finish the match on a 4-1 run to wrap up their win.

Abby Mammen was the lone Lancer to record a multi-goal game with two, and Jamie Hutton handed out two assists and scored her 51st goal of the season. In the cage, Julia Miller recorded a season-high with five saves on the afternoon.

Next, the Lancers will head to San Diego for their penultimate match of the season against the Aztecs of San Diego State on Thursday, April 6, at 4 p.m.
