Lancers Open Weekend Series Against Texans

After TSU's quick lead, the Lancers responded with a four-run rally in the bottom of the third to put them within three of the away team's lead. CBU scored their runners through a series of back-to-back singles and Dustin Garcia rounded out the third inning with a well-placed double to secure the fourth run of the rally. The Texans added a pair of runs in the top of the fourth and a single run in the seventh to extend their lead to 10-4.
Mitchel Simon tallied an RBI to his stat line in the bottom of the seventh as he scored a runner with single up the middle. Cole Howarth followed suit with a hit to first base that added a second run for the Lancers, putting them within four. The Texans rounded out their evening with two runs in the top of the eighth to solidify the win. Simon and Garcia both collected two hits against the Tarleton pitching staff. The third baseman earned two RBI and the outfielder took home one RBI.
California Baptist returns to Totman Stadium to face the Tarleton Texans again on Saturday, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
