CBU Closes Out Non-Conference Series in Vegas

RIVERSIDE--- California Baptist rounded out the nonconference series against the University of Nevada Las Vegas, ending the weekend with a 13-3 loss. The Lancers went down early and weren't able to catch the Rebel's lead. CBU moves to 21-19 on the year.
Josh Paino had another solid day on the diamond as he picked up his second and third double of the weekend, as well as two RBI, on Sunday afternoon. The shortstop's double in the sixth inning helped CBU get on the board with two runs. Connor McGuire also had an RBI double in the sixth as his second hit of the game. The Lancers ended the afternoon with eight hits and no errors against the Rebels.
California Baptist ultimately had a successful weekend against UNLV, breaking the strikeouts in a single game during the CBU DI era with 16 on Friday night. Liam Rocha led the historic night with 11 strikeouts of his own. The Lancers also secured the series on Saturday with an 8-7 win after Mitchel Simon hit an RBI single in the tenth inning.
CBU returns home for a home Tuesday night game against The University of Hawaii at 6:00 p.m. before returning to Western Athletic Conference play on Friday.
