NABC Releases Academic Awards for 2022-23

KANSAS CITY--- The National Association of Basketball Coaches has announced the recipients of the 2022-23 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by men's college basketball teams and student-athletes. California Baptist University's men's basketball team earned the team award for the second straight season, and five athletes were awarded on the Honors Court.
To be recognized, student-athletes needed to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, and for the team to be honored, it required a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Over 1,800 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court, and over 300 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2022-23.
CBU's honorees were Blondeau Tchoukuiegno, Joe Quintana, Malik Wade, Reed Nottage, and Riley Battin. Nottage made the list for the second consecutive season, while the rest were first-time honorees. The Lancers were second among Western Athletic Conference schools in honorees, trailing only Seattle University, and were one of three universities to receive the team excellence award in the WAC, joining Seattle University and Utah Tech on the list.
