Riley Battin Signs Professional Contract with Shonan United BC in Japan

RIVERSIDE--- Riley Battin signed a professional contract with Shonan United BC after finishing his collegiate career with the California Baptist University men's basketball team last season. Shonan United is located in the Shonan region of Japan and competes in the top professional league in Japan and was founded in 2018.
Battin played in all 33 games for the Lancers during the 2022-2023 season after spending his first four seasons with the University of Utah. Battin was second on the Lancers in scoring and rebounding while starting 32 games. The forward scored a career-high 19 points in a road loss at Southern Utah on three made triples. Battin put together 19 double-digit scoring efforts on the season, including a pair of double-doubles.
Riley reached the 1,000-point milestone on February 15th in an 84-63 win over the Seattle U Redhawks. Battin scored 1,051 points while grabbing 612 rebounds on 42 % shooting for his collegiate career. As a Lancer, Battin set personal season bests in almost every major statistical category, including points, rebounds, and assists.
Battin will suit up for Shonan United BC beginning in the 2023-24 season.
