RIVERSIDE--- California Baptist announced its 2025 baseball schedule on Friday evening, which includes 34 home games and three clubs that appeared in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The Lancers are coming off a successful 2024 campaign that saw Head Coach Gary Adcock's team advance to the Western Athletic Conference Tournament Championship for the first time in program history, and the squad will be looking to return to the WAC Tournament finale for another chance at an automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
California Baptist will open its season on February 14th against Portland at Totman Stadium in a four-game series that will extend through the 17th. The Lancers will then welcome Pepperdine for a midweek match-up at home before heading south to participate in the Tony Gwynn Classic in San Diego, competing against Long Beach, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Barbara. CBU will round out February at home against Utah and UC Riverside in the infamous Crosstown Showdown. Adcock's squad will then open March against Loyola Marymount in a midweek game, facing the Lions for the first time in program history.
After the Air Force visits Riverside for a three-game series from March 7-9th, the Lancers will host San Francisco before heading to New Jersey to compete against Rutgers. CBU will then play in the first of two installments against San Diego State before the Western Athletic Conference slate begins. California Baptist opens WAC play at home this season against Utah Tech from March 21st through March 23rd and will host four conference series in Riverside this year. CBU will then head to Texas to battle UT Arlington and will return home for a midweek tilt against UNLV to close out March.
April will begin with Grand Canyon making their first appearance at Totman Stadium in four years before the Lancers head back to San Diego for a midweek against San Diego State on April 8th. The weekend of April 11th through the 13th will be a WAC bye-week for CBU, who will instead host the University of Pacific before welcoming 2024 NCAA Tournament participants UC Santa Barbara at home. Western Athletic Conference play starts back up again for the Lancers with back-to-back trips to Sacramento State and Utah Valley.
California Baptist will return home for the first week of May to welcome Tarleton and UC Irvine to Totman Stadium before finishing a final road WAC series at Seattle University.
