RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist men's golf team is set to compete in its second spring season event on Monday afternoon. The Lancers are coming off a ninth-place finish of 17 squads at the Wyoming Collegiate Classic last week and will be looking to continue in a top-10 fashion.
TL Brown's squad is no stranger to the Orange County Collegiate Classic, as CBU has competed in the field for the last four years. This year's event is hosted by Cal State Fullerton and UC Irvine, and the field includes ten different squads. The event will take place at the picturesque Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, California. Modeled after the traditional Scottish links style, the course is challenging as it boasts tight fairways and firm greens. The Monarch Beach Golf Links has been featured in numerous publications for its beautiful course, including Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine.
Traveling to Orange County for CBU are Eeli Kujanpää, Kurtis Rodriguez, Sean Citherlet, Henri Nishiwaki, and Ka'ena Kaulia. Kujanpaa, Rodriguez, and Citherlet all posted top-30 finishes at the squad's last tournament. The trio had a successful fall season and will be looking to get into the swing of things again on Monday morning.
