Lancers Card 7th Place Finish in Orange County

DANA POINT--- The California Baptist men's golf program headed south to Dana Point, California, to participate in the Orange County Collegiate Classic on Monday morning. The Lancers carded a seventh-place finish of 10 programs at the Monarch Beach Golf Links and finished 21-over par as a team.
Kurtis Rodriguez led CBU from the start and posted a season-low 6-under par through the first round. First-year Ka'ena Kaulia and senior Sean Citherlet both finished the first round with a 73 on the scorecard, which was a tournament-low for the freshman golfer. The second round was a low for Citherlet as he carded a 65, while Henri Nishiwaki followed suit with a 1-under finish.
Citherlet continued to go low during the final round of the tournament and finished with a 2-over par final-round score for a 15th-place finish. Rodriguez remained consistent through the two-day event and finished Tuesday with a final score of 213, securing a 27th-place finish. Eeli Kujanpää, finished in 44th, while Kaulia ended in 48th as Nishiwaki carded a 53-place finish.
The Lancers will return to the course on March 12th as they head to the Grand Canyon Invitation in Phoenix, Arizona.
