Daniels Jr. Named Player of the Week for the Sixth Time this Season

RIVERSIDE --- Guard Dominique Daniels Jr. has been named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Week for the sixth time this season. The graduate guard averaged over 25 PPG last week as the Lancers went 2-0 inside the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center.
CBU picked up home victories over UT Arlington and Tarleton State, moving the Lancers to 21-8 overall this season and 14-0 at home. The Lancers have matched the most wins in a single season during CBU's Division I era.
Daniels Jr. averaged 25.5 PPG in CBU's two victories, moving his season average to 22.3 PPG, which is the eighth-best scoring average in Division I. He has scored 20 points in 19 of his 28 appearances this season. He also added a career milestone this week when he surpassed 3,000 points for his collegiate career (San Bernardino Valley College and California Baptist).
The week began with a 28-point performance out of Daniels Jr. in CBU's 68-56 victory against UT Arlington. Daniels Jr. connected on 11-of-22 from the field to pair with four assists and three rebounds.
He followed that up with 23 points in CBU's 82-67 win against Tarleton State. Daniels Jr. sank four 3-pointers and dished out four assists for the second consecutive game. Daniels Jr. also finished with two steals against the Texans.
With their two wins last week, CBU moved to 11-5 in conference action this season. The Lancers remain a game behind Utah Valley for first place entering the final two games of the regular season. With one this week, CBU will clinch a top two seed in the WAC Tournament, automatically moving CBU to the semifinals.
The Lancers will wrap up the regular season this week, beginning with CBU's final home game on Thursday against Abilene Christian. Thursday will be Senior Night in the Fowler Events Center, as Daniels Jr. and four other Lancers will be honored in a special pregame ceremony.
