Ryne Palmer Claims WAC Pitcher of the Week Honors

RIVERSIDE—- The Western Athletic Conference announced the weekly awards on Monday evening and named Ryne Palmer the Pitcher of the Week. Palmer tossed an excellent Sunday game to secure the series win versus Utah Tech for California Baptist. This is Palmer's first weekly award and CBU's third pitcher of the week award this season.
The series was set up for a rubber match versus Utah Tech in California Baptist on Sunday afternoon and Palmer rose to the occasion, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning. In the end the right-handed pitcher would only allow one hit and no runs during his complete six innings before turning over the game to a Lancer reliever to finish the job. CBU secured a 6-0 shutout win for the series victory. Palmer contributed five strikeouts and walked just three batters.
California Baptist will now turn its attention to a midweek match versus UC Riverside tomorrow at 2 PM before heading to Utah Valley this weekend as conference play continues
