O’Brien Earns Second Big West Defensive Player of the Week Honor

IRVINE, Calif. – Graduate goalkeeper Mikayla O'Brien earned her second Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season Monday after helping the Lancers extend their historic shutout streak to six matches with a 1-0 win over San Diego.
O'Brien recorded two saves in the shutout victory, helping extend CBU's win streak to five matches and its shutout streak to six. The Lancers are also the only remaining Division I women's soccer team in the country to have not allowed a goal this season.
The shutout marked O'Brien's 17th career clean sheet at CBU.
O'Brien earned her first Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor on Aug. 17 after helping the Lancers open the season with a 0-0 draw at California.
O'Brien, who was named to the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Goalkeepers to Watch List and the All-Big West Preseason Team, has continued to make an impact for the Lancers during their historic start to the season.
O'Brien and the Lancers will travel to San Luis Obispo, California, for CBU's first Big West Conference match of the season against Cal Poly on Wednesday at 6 p.m. PT.
