Amy Ramirez joined the California Baptist University Softball staff in 2011 as an assistant coach and was named the Director of Softball Operations in the fall of 2018.
Ramirez, formerly Amy Thomas, is a long-time Lancer as she was a former player in the 2007 and 2008 seasons. She was inducted into the CBU Hall of Fame in 2016 after a tremendous playing career. She was a two-time NAIA All-American and Pitcher of the Year. As a pitcher, she still holds a host of program career records; she is first in ERA (0.83), fourth in wins (60), second in saves (8) and third with 53 complete games.
In 2007, Ramirez posted an ERA of 0.56, which is the second best single-season ERA in CBU history. She had 47 appearances in the circle during the 2008 season, which is tied for first with her sister Candice Thomas. Ramirez led the team in 2007 with 187 strikeouts and again in 2008 with 182. She also pitched 449 innings in her career, which is currently fourth on the career list.
Ramirez prepped three varsity seasons at Barstow (Calif.) High School, graduating in 2004. She earned league MVP honors and was named Desert Dispatch and Daily Press Player of the Year as a 2004 senior. She was also named Barstow High School Female Athlete of the Year in 2004 and helped her team advance to the CIF championship game.
Ramirez, who married the love of her life in 2013, graduated from CBU in 2008 with a degree in kinesiology and finished her master's in kinesiology degree May of 2013. The pair have two daughters.
