BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --- Stephanie Glendenning scored 5 times, and Whitney Shaw scored a quartet of goals to lift California Baptist to a pair of wins at the Roadrunner Invitational, hosted by Cal State Bakersfield. The Lancers downed Sonoma State, 15-7, in the first game and came with a 14-6 win over Cal State East Bay in the second match.

The wins improve CBU to 2-2 on the season.

California Baptist and Sonoma State played a tight water polo match for 8 minutes before the Lancers blew the match open early in the second period in a 15-7 win in game 2 of the Roadrunner Invitational at the John S. Hillman Aquatics Center on Saturday.

Sonoma State never led but did equal a pair of first period goals by CBU to make the score 2-2 after 8 minutes of play. But the Lancers exploded for 5 goals in the first 4 minutes of the second period to suddenly make the score 7-2 and Sonoma State didn't threaten the rest of the way.

Corrie Stuursma and Stephanie Glendenning led a balanced Lancer scoring attack with 3 goals apiece. Sonoma State's Samantha Mullins led all players with 4 goals.

California Baptist did not allow a goal to its opponent until midway through the third quarter as the Lancers cruised past Cal State East Bay 14-6 in the fourth game of the Roadrunners Invitational at the John S. Hillman Aquatics Center on Saturday.

CBU had little troubles jumping out to an 8-0 lead with 4:47 remaining in the third quarter before CSUEB finally jumped on the board. The Lancers allowed 4 fourth quarter goals to account for the final score of 14-6.

California Baptist had another balanced scoring game with Whitney Shaw, Kelly Perez, Stephanie Glendenning and Chelsea Gentry all scoring a pair of goals. Six different CSUEB players scored.
