TUCSON, Ariz. --- Erin Moore's 2-run homer put the NAIA's No. 1-ranked California Baptist in the lead to stay, in a 5-4 victory over Science and Arts (OK) to cap off a 3-win day at the Tucson Invitational Games Wednesday.
The Lancers overcame 6 errors in the finale, leading to 4 unearned runs, as they improve to 30-1 and win their 27th game in a row. Earlier on the day, California Baptist posted an 11-0 victory over Huntington and thrashed MidAmerica Nazarene by a 12-0 tally.
Amy Thomas (16-0) extended her streak of innings pitched without allowing an earned run to 65.2 frames, with 2 victories and an appearance in each game on the day. Candice Thomas (14-1), who owns the school record with 87.2 innings without allowing an earned run back in 2005, earned the victory in the opener against Huntington.
Sara Goforth had 5 hits, including 2 triples, while Nichole Olaiz hit her first collegiate home run on the day.
