Hudson buried the first 3 goals of the game in the nation's No. 12-ranked Hawks' 12-10 overtime victory over California Baptist and?outside of a stray goal in the third quarter, was not heard from again until breaking out with a pair of extra-time goals that made the difference in the game.
Cheryl Ogden did all she could in the loss, scoring 3 goals in the effort, but the Lancers fall to 21-10. California Baptist also suffered a 7-5 defeat to No. 4 Hawaii earlier in the day.
Hartwick also received a hat trick from Keri James, who scored one of the Hawks' 3 goals in overtime, making the score 12-9.
Ogden's only goal of the earlier game against No. 4 Hawaii made the score 5-3 with 6:34 left in the second period, but the Rainbow Wahine rallied with 5 unanswered goals to close out the second half. Kelly Mason scored with 5:25 left in the third period, and Anna Sieprath scored to close out the third period with a tied score of 5-5.
Lisa van Raalte netted the eventual game-winner with 6:37 on the fourth-quarter clock, and Mason posted an insurance goal with just over a minute remaining in the game. Whitney Shaw had scored both of her goals in a 3-goal flurry that gave the Lancers the lead in the second period.
