POMONA, Calif. ? California Baptist won its fifth straight game with an 8-6 win over Claremont Mudd-Scripps.
The Lancers (9-5) got a pair of goals from three different players. Cydney Owen, Julie Snodgrass and Ashleigh Wheeler all found the back of the net twice. Snodgrass added two assists while Wheeler also dished out an assist.
“We played a solid game and executed very well on the defensive end,” said CBU head coach Jacob Medina. “Cydney did a great job on the inside and our ball movement and drives created plenty of opportunities for us to score. We had a little trouble throughout the game putting shots away but our defense really stepped up and led us to a victory.”
Corrie Stuursma notched a goal and an assist while freshman sensation Kyle Chevalier ripped a goal and dished out a pair of assists.
Julie Abendschein also picked up seven saves.
The Lancers now get set to host Cal State Bakersfield, Friday at 3 p.m., before hosting Chapman, Saturday at 11 a.m.
