RIVERSIDE, Calif. ? Jennifer Grutz scored 10 of California Baptist University's 30 goals in pair of wins over Pacific, 15-11, and Fresno Pacific, 15-10.
The win marks the Lancers' (7-6) fifth win in six games
Grutz scored four goals in the win over Pacific. Chelsea Gentry netted a hat trick while Ashleigh Rood and Collette Brown each scored two. Tiffany Strickland, Kylie Chevalier, Rachel Easu and Rylee Scheid all scored single goals.
Grutz, Gentry and Strickland put CBU up 3-2 after the first quarter, but the Tigers answered, scoring five in the second to tie it at 7-7 at halftime.
The Lancers drummed Pacific in the third quarter as Gentry scored two goals while Rood, Easu and Scheid all found the back of the net to give CBU a 12-8 lead heading into the fourth. Grutz added her final two goals in the fourth and Brown also added a goal in the final quarter.
Camryn Rogers also posted six saves.
Grutz followed up her earlier performance with a six-goal game against Fresno Pacific. She also recorded three steals and dished out one assist. Brown scored four goals while Chevalier added two. Gentry, Rood and Melissa Shepardson all added a goal as well. Gentry, Chevalier, Rood and Brown all dished out two assists.
Rogers also recorded 12 saves.
The Lancers were 4-for-7 on 6-on-5 attempts and held Fresno to just 1-for-3 on 6-on-5 chances.
