Reno, Nev. – California Baptist men's basketball battled No. 6/7 Nevada, but could not overcome the Wolf Pack having six players scoring in double figures en route to a 90-55 victory at the Lawlor Events Center on Monday night.
CBU sophomore Milan Acquaah finished with 12 points, five assists, four steals and three rebounds. Acquaah, who was named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week earlier today, has scored in double figures all four games this season and leads the team with 17.5 points per game.
The Lancers led early in the game holding a 14-11 advantage eight minutes into the game. Nevada responded at that point and went on a 9-0 run to take the lead for good at 20-14 with 7:35 remaining in the first half. CBU sophomore Ty Rowell hit his first of two treys to cut the Nevada lead to 22-19 with 6:25 left on the clock.
The Pack improves to 4-0 on the year. Nevada is 36-2 in the last 38 home games. In fact, Nevada has not lost a home non-conference game with 26 straight victories dating back to 2013.
The Lancers (2-2) will travel home briefly before flying out to Little Rock, Arkansas for a pair of games later this week. CBU will take on University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday at 11 a.m.

However, that is the closest the Lancers would be able to get the rest of the game against the Wolf Pack, who advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 last season.
