LA JOLLA, Calif. – An 11-save, two-steal performance from Grace Ramirez highlighted California Baptist University's first game in more than two weeks. The 24th-ranked Lancers battled in a 16-3 loss on the road at No. 13 UC San Diego Saturday.
CBU's record slips to 4-6 and the Tritons improve to 7-7. The Lancers are back in action Wednesday when they host fifth-ranked Hawaii at noon and then the University of Toronto for an exhibition at 7 p.m.
All three Lancer goals came from different scorers on Saturday, with Amy Branch notching the first, Allie Coleman adding the second and Catie Kaliszewski providing the last. Katie Fugit logged three steals and an assist in the game, while Jocelyn Schwegler had an assist, as well. Krista Krantz, Amy Bideshi, Madison Gonzales, Taralyn De Leeuw, Kaliszewski and Jaclyn Myers all had a steal.
