It turned out to be a wild one, with the Lancers coming up with a one-run win, 7-6, in a game that featured four ties and three lead changes. Down 6-5, CBU scored twice in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead and secured the win on a 1-2-3 inning from Matt Amrhein in the top of the ninth.

Luke Navigato, Andrew Bash, Harrison Spohn and Jeff Bruyntjens all had two hits in the victory, while Bash and John Glenn both had two runs batted in. CBU improves to 5-0 this season, and continue a busy week with a four-game home series with Ohio Friday through Sunday. First pitch is schedule for 6 p.m. on Friday before a 2 p.m. doubleheader Saturday and series finale Sunday at 1 p.m.
Kansas State drops to 2-3 this season. The Wildcats of the Big 12 Conference have qualified for the NCAA Division I Tournament four times since 2009. Its last appearance came in 2013 and ended in the Super Regional.
The Wildcats scored first with a run on three hits in the top of the first inning, but Chris Burica limited the damage. He got a double-play grounder and then Spohn made a nice running throw at third, with Glenn coming up with a great dig on the other end at first base to end the inning.
Navigato tied the game with one swing of the bat, leading off CBU's offense with a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the first.
And with one swing we have a tie game❗️

Amrhein closed the door on Kansas State by retiring the Wildcats in order in the top of the ninth. He ended a long at-bat to lead off the inning with a pop-up to short and then struck out the next two batters to end the game.
Chris Burica earned his first collegiate start on the mound and held Kansas State to just one run over the first 3.2 innings on four hits and two walks. Jacob McCarvel came up big in relief, retiring the one batter he faced in the bottom of the fourth to strand Wildcats on the corners, with a grounder to shortstop.
CBU got great defensive play on the left side of the infield from sophomores Angelo Capolupo and Harrison Spohn at shortstop and third base, respectively. Capolupo made an amazing diving stop, pop and throw to retire Kansas State's leadoff bottom in the bottom of the sixth.
