John Glenn and Harrison Spohn continued their big weekends offensively. Matt Amrhein put together a strong pitching performance in his second-ever start, while CJ Culpepper logged his 11th save of the season to build on his lead in that category in the WAC and keep pace with the NCAA Division I leaders, as well.
Glenn went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and a two-run homer. Spohn was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI doubles to cap off impressive weeks for the duo.
Overall, Glenn batted .786 (11-14), slugged 1.071 and maintained a .824 OBP with three walks and a stolen base. He scored seven times and drove in four runs batted in with a double and homer to his credit. Spohn hit .615 (8-13), slugged 1.077 with six doubles and had a .667 OBP with two walks and no strikeouts. He had six RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base.

Amrhein allowed just two runs on two hits and two hit by pitches over 7.1 innings on the mound. He also struck out three batters before handing the ball over to Culpepper, who recorded the final five outs without allowing a base runner.
WAC STANDINGS UPDATE
CBU is now the undisputed conference leader with a 17-3 WAC record. Grand Canyon holds in second place at 16-4, as it had the week off from play. Sacramento State split its series at Northern Colorado to move to 16-8 in the league, while The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley moved into fourth place 12-8.
CULPEPPER'S RECORD PACE
Culpepper moves back into a tie for the D-I lead in saves this season, as Stanford's Zach Grech had 11 coming into Sunday. His 11 saves are two more than any other WAC pitcher, as well, and surpasses the Lancers' single-season record first set by Charlie Eckenrod at 10 in 2001. His 11 saves are just three off CBU's career lead of 14 set by Brody Robinson.
On the year, Culpepper has a 3.26 ERA, .203 opposing batting average and 1-1 record. He also has 26 strikeouts over 14 appearances and 19.1 innings pitched.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Spohn and Glenn got CBU off to hot starts, as they played big parts in the Lancers' first four runs. CBU took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, with a one-out single from Glenn and two-out RBI double from Spohn doing the damage.

Glenn made it a 3-0 Lancer advantage with a two-run homer in the third that scored Damon Keith, who hit a leadoff single. It was deja'vu in the fifth when Spohn hit a two-out RBI double that scored Glenn, who was walked.
Glenn's homer was good for the 27th in his career, which is tied for the 11th most in CBU history and fourth most in the NCAA era.

The Wolverines threatened when they put two runners on with one out in the eighth. Coach Gary Adcock made the move to Culpepper, who got a 6-4-3 double play to end the threat. He then retired UVU 1-2-3 in the ninth for his 11th save of the season.
CBU had a number of impressive defensive plays on the weekend, but none more so than a diving play on a ball up the middle from CJ Masciel at shortstop.
