
Lancers Log Eighth-Straight Win over VMI

It was CBU's first home game at the Lancer Aquatics Center in 46 days and brought the Lancers' record to 12-9 this season as it put a cap on non-conference play. The Keydets fall to 3-11 on the season.

California Baptist will play a season-long three-game homestand to start the Golden Coast Conference campaign, with Concordia visiting Wednesday, March 23 at 6 p.m. and Santa Clara dropping in on Friday, March 25 at 3 p.m.

Seven Lancers scored on Wednesday, with five pouring in multiple goals. Jamie Hutton, Vicky Martinez and Lahela Rosario each scored twice in the game. Hutton also had an assist, drawn ejection and a steal. Caelan Loroff notched a team-high three assists.

Galbraith and Schwegler each had two assists, with Galbraith adding a drawn ejection and a steal. It was the first hat trick of Galbraith's career and fifth for Schwegler this season.
The combination of Galbraith and Schwegler helped CBU get out to a good start by combining to score the Lancers' first five goals. CBU scored the first three goals of the game in the opening five minutes, with two coming from Galbraith.

VMI cut its deficit down to one, 4-3, about halfway through the second quarter. The Lancers went on a 4-0 run from there, with Galbraith and Schwegler each getting their hat tricks in the opening 16 and a half minutes, to take an 8-3 advantage.
The Keydets moved back within four goals, 8-4, but CBU ended the final nine-and-half minutes on a 6-3, as Rosario and Martinez each scored twice down the stretch.
