CBU tests the #15 Cowboys in Stillwater

STILLWATER--- The California Baptist University, fresh off their upset series win over Oklahoma, headed into a matchup with the #15 Oklahoma State Cowboys on Tuesday afternoon. The Lancers and the Sooners went scoreless through eight and a half innings, but a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Cowboys a 2-0 lead thatwas ultimately the difference in the game.
In the sixth inning, the Cowboys were able to load the bases with two outs on the board, but CBU reliever Liam Rocha skillfully forced the fly out to center field and struck another batter out to keep the game scoreless heading into the seventh inning.
At the top of the eighth inning, Conner McGuire reached base on a Cowboys throwing error and advanced to second off a well-executed sacrificed bunt by Garret Ostrander.
Liam Rocha had six strikeouts for the game and did not allow a run through a little over four innings of work.
Next up for CBU Baseball will be their home opener against the Nevada Wolfpack on Thursday, February 21st, at 6 p.m. at Totman Stadium.
