CBU Falls to Lumberjacks in Series Final

SFA kicked things off in the bottom of the first inning with a four-run home run, securing an early 4-0 lead. The Lancers immediately got to work in the second inning and after putting two runs on the board, Dustin Garcia stole home to put CBU within one of the Lumberjack's lead. A single from Shayne Simpson to left field would score the tying run, but the tied score wouldn't last as SFA regained the lead with a single of their own in the third inning.
In the fourth inning, the Lumberjacks extended their lead with another three runs but were matched by the Lancers with a three-run shot from Garcia to put CBU within one run of a tied game. After a scoreless sixth inning, SFA would extend their lead again with a pair of runs in the seventh. The Lancers would again match it with a two-run home run from Mitchel Simon to keep them within one of a 10-9 score but ultimately couldn't catch the 'Jacks.
Garcia performed well on the Nacogdoches diamond, collecting three hits and four RBI. Brandon Downer and Ryan Delgado earned three strikeouts apiece during their time on the mound this afternoon.
California Baptist returns to Totman Stadium on Tuesday, March 21st for a midweek match-up against the UNLV Rebels at 3 p.m.
