Lancers Fall to Wildcats on First Day of WAC Tournament

Cole Howarth came up big for the Lancers, helping CBU get on the board first with an RBI single. After the ACU took the lead with a pair of runs in the second, Howarth came back around in the fourth inning with a solo shot to tie the game. Back-to-back solo home runs from Josh Paino and Mitchel Simon put the Lancers ahead in the top of the eighth, breaking the three-inning stalemate. The Wildcats ultimately came up with the win after a three-run rally pushed them past the Lancers by one run.

Howarth ended his day on the diamond with three hits and a pair of RBI, while Wilson collected four strikeouts from the mound across six innings. Simon picked up his 18th home run of the year, and Paino earned his ninth homer of the year.
The Lancers move to 28-29 on the year and must win on Wednesday to stay alive in their Division I inaugural postseason.
