RIVERSIDE--- California Baptist University's women's soccer program met Fresno State at CBU Soccer Stadium on a warm Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs scored in the middle of the first half, but the Lancers responded in the second half with a pair of goals for three wins at home this season. CBU moves to 5-1-1 on the year, their best start to a season since 2020.
After the game was delayed by ten minutes due to extreme heat, the match finally kicked off and was physical from the start. In the 65th minute, the Lancers were fouled outside the 18-yard box, and Marcella Brooks delivered a beautiful goal in the top left corner to even the match. CBU continued to dominate on the defensive half of the Bulldogs, tallying a total of 16 shots with eight on frame. Kaylee Hauck secured the victory with an 83rd-minute goal after she found the back of the net off a rebounded shot from Jayden Ramirez.
