GAME 1 vs. INDIANA:
CBU opened the day against the undefeated Hoosiers to open up the tournament. The Hoosiers jumped out quickly with three goals in the first four minutes before a Madison Haworth goal opened the scoring for the Lancers. Dora Lehoczky would add another goal at the end of the first period as the Lancers trailed 5-2 after the opening eight minutes.
The host school dominated the second frame as the Hoosiers netted four goals and did not allow a single one to find its mark for the Lancers. The Lancers would win the third period 2-1, with Emaly Hutton and Aubrey Newton finding goals in the back half of the frame to bring the score to 10-4 in favor of Indiana.
A 3-0 run for the Hoosiers virtually put the match out of reach for the Lancers. However, CBU would not show any quit and would score three impressive goals to close out the game to ultimately bring the result to 16-7 in favor of IU.
Tyanna Schneider was the story of the opening match, posting a career-high 18 saves in 32 minutes of action in goal. Schneider made every type of save imaginable through four periods of play and ended with a 53% save percentage. Offensively, the Lancers had seven different goal scorers and were led in assists by Grace Bergquist, who dished out a pair.

GAME #2 vs. ST. FRANCIS:
The afternoon's final match saw the Lancers come away victorious for their second win of the young season over the Red Flashes of St. Francis. CBU set the tone early with a 3-0 first period on goals from Haworth, Bergquist, and Hutton. The Lancers held the Red Flashes without a goal for the opening 13 minutes of action before they cashed in at the bottom of the second period. The Lancers would tack on two more goals before halftime, leading 6-3 heading into the break.
CBU put the game away in the third period, scoring five goals and allowing none for St. Francis. Celeste Almendariz and Cayleigh Carter got in on the party, scoring three of those five goals in the period. The Lancers would close it out in the final period and go on to record the 14-5 victory.
Schneider was once again impressive in goal for CBU, posting a 72.2% save percentage and adding 13 more saves to her day's total. Schneider had 31 saves on the day in eight periods of action for the Lancers. Hutton also had a standout performance, with four goals on six shots, along with a pair of steals.
