CBU Battles Fresno on Saturday Afternoon

FRESNO, CA--- The California Baptist women's water polo team headed north to face the Fresno Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs emerged victorious after the match-up, downing the Lancers 20-4. CBU moves to 6-12 on the season and is 1-1 in conference play, while Fresno improves to 13-5 on the year and is 1-0 in Golden Coast Conference play.
The Bulldogs jumped out with a hot start from the very beginning after scoring seven goals and allowing just one from the Lancers. The same trend would continue into the second quarter after Fresno tallied another five goals, but this time allowed none. CBU put a pair on the board in the third quarter and another in the fourth, but ultimately were not able to overcome the Bulldogs' offensive storm.
Four different Lancers tallied a goal on Saturday, including Madison Haworth, Cayleigh Carter, Dora Lehoczky, and Grace Bergquist. California Baptist is set to return to the pool on Tuesday, March 12th against La Salle University.
